1. Trinity College Dublin | College Green
If you want to feel like you’ve stepped straight into a storybook, you need to visit Trinity College Dublin. Founded in 1592, it remains Ireland’s oldest university and one of the top things to do in Dublin for anyone who loves history, culture or architecture. Walk along the same cobblestone paths as famous scholars, poets and world-changers did for over 400 years. Besides the grand Georgian architecture and lush green grounds, there are a few not-so-secret gems to be found inside. Housed in the iconic Long Room (one of the most photographed spaces in the world), is the Book of Kells. This stunning 9th-century illuminated manuscript was created by monks and is considered one of the world’s greatest cultural treasures!

2. Dublinia | Christ Church, 5 Meath Street.
In honour of our Norse roots, we think it’s fitting to recommend Dublinia as a must-visit when in Dublin. This museum is less than a 9-minute walk from Temple Bar and describes itself as “the heart of Viking and Medieval Dublin”. Relive Dublin’s past through interactive exhibits: walk in the footsteps of Vikings, experience what life was like in the Medieval Age and climb the tower for a panoramic view of the city. Whether you’re a history buff or looking for something unique to do in Dublin, this needs to be on your list.

3. Viking Splash Tour | Departs from St. Stephen’s Green, North
Unleash your inner Viking! If you’re looking for something more active to do in Dublin, we’d highly recommend the Viking Splash Tour. Climb onboard an authentic WW2 amphibious DUKW and whizz through some of our famous Dublin City landmarks. On the second part of the tour, you’ll find out why you had to wear a life jacket! Get ready to make a big splash into the Grand Canal basin as your tour bus transforms into a tour boat! Cruise along and catch a glimpse of U2 Studios before heading back to dry land for the end of the tour.

If you fancy stretching the legs, it’s less than a 20-minute walk from Temple Bar. A designated storyteller will guide you with tales of coopers, craftsmen and the famous triple-distillation process that gives Jameson its iconic smoothness.
